Instructions for Use

Apply a thin coat to clean, dry skin and the adhesive side of your ostomy appliance. Applying both surfaces can create up to 50% more adhesive strength.

Applying Skinister adhesive to the skin around the stoma
1 Apply to skin

Spray around the stoma.

Apply a light coat to the skin where your wafer or barrier will sit.

Avoid spraying directly on the stoma or mucous membrane.

  • Use a thin coat, not a heavy wet layer.
  • Keep adhesive inside the wafer contact area.
2 Apply to the bag

Coat the skin-facing side.

Spray the adhesive side of your wafer, flange, hydrocolloid barrier, or adhesive border.

Works with common one-piece and two-piece systems from Hollister, ConvaTec, Coloplast, and other major ostomy brands.

  • One-piece: spray the attached wafer or barrier.
  • Two-piece: spray the skin-facing side of the wafer.
  • Cut-to-fit: avoid overspraying into the stoma opening.
Applying Skinister adhesive to an ostomy bag barrier
60

Wait 60 seconds.

Let the adhesive become tacky before applying your pouch. This helps the solvent evaporate and prevents a wet, slippery bond.

3 Apply your bag

Now you’re ready for a stronger seal.

Place your pouching system over the stoma and press firmly around the barrier for at least 60 seconds.

That’s it. You’re ready to help prevent leaks and extend wear time.

Removal tip: Use Skinister Medical Adhesive Remover around the edges and gently peel.

Follow your ostomy nurse or healthcare provider’s guidance. Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, the stoma, eyes, or mouth.

4 Remove your bag

Remove it gently.

When it is time to change your pouch, use Skinister Medical Adhesive Remover to loosen the seal.

Spray around the wafer or barrier edge, then peel slowly while working more remover underneath.

Tip: Go slow and let the remover do the work. It helps lift the barrier more comfortably and wipe away leftover adhesive.

  • Start at the outer edge.
  • Peel gently while adding remover underneath.
  • Wipe away any remaining residue.
  • Avoid the stoma, eyes, and mouth.
